  • Contributes to design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, evaluating, modifying, deploying, and documenting software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications.

  • Serving as a core member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration.

  • Design and develop responsive web applications using the best engineering practices.

  • Performing hands-on software development, spending majority of time writing code and unit tests.

  • Develop proof of concepts, conduct code reviews, and test in ongoing sprints.

  • Performing ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts.

  • Developing deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.

  • Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.

  • Mentoring team members.

  • Bring a mindset of innovation, ideas, and continuous improvement.

  • Challenging status quo, demonstrate risk taking, and implement creative ideas.

  • Bring a good attitude, great communication, willingness to learn and collaborate.

  • Drive automation and ensure automated test scripts are completed for new features.

That’s why we have Amex Flex, our enterprise working model that provides greater flexibility to colleagues while ensuring we preserve the important aspects of our unique in-person culture. Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite, in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and virtual days) or fully virtually.

If the role you are applying for is designated as hybrid or onsite, you will be required to demonstrate that you have completed your primary COVID-19 vaccination series (i.e., 2 doses for Moderna/Pfizer and 1 dose for J&J) in order to work in or visit any of our offices. This requirement is subject to legally required accommodations.

Minimum Qualifiations:

  • 3+ months of software development experience.

  • 3+ months of experience working in JavaScript, React, Redux.

  • 3+ months with web fundamentals including DOM, HTML/XHTML, CSS, AJAX, JSON.

  • 3+ months experience writing adaptive and responsive UI web applications.

  • 3+ months experience working in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Struts.

  • 3+ months of experience in building REST APIs.

  • 3+ months of experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) / Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices, unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ months working in an Agile development environment.

  • 3+ months of experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment and their frameworks.

  • Experience in Redis or Kafka in the context of low latency and high transaction volume systems.

  • Experience in I18N and a11y.

  • Bachelors Degree
